The Art of Wiki…
For those of you not familiar with a Wiki, its basically an online website or information system that is simple enough for non-technical employees to use, edit and add to. If you google regularly, you will undoubtedly have come across Wikipedia which is one of the biggest open wiki’s on the net. However more and more businesses are adopting internal wikis (with tighter controls) to manage internal and external collaboration. (see recent business week article)
We launched our Wiki internally nearly 2 years ago, making large areas public to our existing customers in December 06. It has become the central collaboration tool for training, innovation and development using a combination of knowledge bases, forums and blogs. Within its virtual walls you can look up anything from how to set up a discount structure for a customer to what will happen if you set the Immediate Dispatch flag to mandatory.
As a result customer you have full access to all the training areas, which includes not only tutorial movies, but also click through process flow and self training exercises.
For reporting users, the training area also includes sections for both the rentalresult reporting model and for reportnet’s formatting and writing functions. Again with movies, tutorials, exercises and quizzes. You can also download XML versions of new standard reports and the latest reportnet models as necessary.
If you haven’t visited our Wiki already it really is worth a look! If you are a customer and haven’t got a log in and you would like one, please contact our support team.
