Take care of your vendors
These days, we spend a lot of time focusing on customers, and implementing new features to make sure that they get the best possible experience, but at the other end of the scale, vendors tend to drop down the priority list.
We think there are several things that we can do to make your vendors experiences better but more importantly also save you time and money. These are some of the things we are looking at currently, if you would like to add further suggestions or make comments on those below please add them in the comments section.
• Vendor Portal
To allow vendors to re-print the latest version of a PO on demand.
To allow vendors to advise you electronically of revised delivery dates for particular PO lines or entire POs.
Account details management including update of address and contact details so vendors can update their own info.
• Vendor pre-delivery notification management, to allow vendors to pre-notify you of deliveries, quantities and asset details so that you can speed up the goods receipt process. Ie push the data entry portion back to the vendors.
• Quote engine to allow vendors to place quotes or bids for your requirements online.
• Vendor self – billing.
This last one is a topic that keeps recurring during conversations with prospects, but never in identical terms from one client to the next. We’d really appreciate your assistance in telling us what you think self-billing should mean for your vendors and whether its something you are actively reviewing.
